Waldoboro Fall Senior Bus Trip

Waldoboro Recreation is sponsoring a bus trip for senior citizens (55+) to Pineland Farms in New Gloucester and the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray on Friday, September 22nd, 2006.

Motor coach transportation will depart the Waldoboro VFW on Mill St. at 8:30am to arrive at Pineland Farms by 10am where the group will split. One group will begin the day with a guided tour of Pineland Farms. Participants will board a trolley and spend the morning visiting the many different aspects of the 5000-acre working farm including agricultural and livestock facilities and the world-class equestrian center.

The second group will continue on to the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray where they will be treated to a guided tour of their own. The park servers as a permanent home for over 25 species of wildlife that cannot survive in the wild. Around noon, both groups will meet for lunch at Pineland Farms' Commons Cafeteria.

Participants are responsible paying for their own meal, entrees range from about $4 to $6 with additional charges for beverages etc. Following lunch, the groups will switch positions and embark on a second round of tours. The bus will return to the VFW around 5:30pm.

The trip is free for Waldoboro residents and $25 for non-residents. (Non-residents will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified if space is available). To register or for more information, please contact Kyle at the Recreation Department at 832-5369 (x308) or stop by the Waldoboro Town Office. Space is limited, so register early.
