Details: Join “Wild” Bill Michaud on the Medomak River for Kayak Lessons. Each session involves 2 1/2 hours on the water plus "ground school” introduction. Skills areas to be addressed and practiced include basic navigation, paddle strokes, emergency procedures, self and assisted rescue (wet exit and reentry), sharing the water, paddler preparation, leave no trace strategies, trip planning and weather and energy control plans. Sessions are “graduated” and involve increasingly advanced skill discussions and sophistication but are appropriate for beginners from week 1 to week 6. Participants supply appropriate clothing. All other equipment is provided.
