Junior Olympics Results
Press Release
Local youngsters between the ages of 8 and 13 participated in the
U.S. Junior Olympic Skills Competition presented by Kellogg's
Frosted Flakes. This free grassroots youth participation program
allows boys and girls, competing separately, the opportunity to
showcase their athletic abilities in four events - basketball,
soccer, tennis and track & field. The program is designed to
encourage youth participation in sport while promoting sportsmanship.
The competition was hosted by the Waldoboro Recreation Department
on June 10th. The Champions of the local Junior Olympics Skills were:

These Champions will advance to the Regional Competition to
be held in Auburn on June 24th. This is one of the Regional
Competitions being held nationwide that will determine those
youngsters advancing to the United States Olympic Training
Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the National Finals.
