The Finance Department provides for the management of the accounting systems, cash and treasury management, payroll and financial reporting, pension and employee benefits, risk management and customer services on a daily basis.
All cash receipts and disbursements are handled by this department. In addition, all property tax related functions such as real estate, personal property, and excise taxes are handled by this department, including the management of delinquent property taxes, tax liens, and tax acquired property. The motor vehicle registration program (new and re-registrations for watercraft, ATV's, and snowmobiles) are provided by this department as a service to the citizens.
