The Planning & Development Department is responsible for administering and enforcing the Town's land use ordinance as well as federal and state regulations that govern land use. The department also ensures compliance with these rules and regulations by reviewing plans prior to construction and conducting inspections of the projects.
The Planning & Development Department issues all permits associated with projects, including building, plumbing, sign and land use permits. The department also is responsible for providing research and technical and staff support to the Planning Board and Board of Appeals.
This ordinance was adopted by Town Meeting June 16, 2005 (amended June 15, 2006, February 12, 2008, June 09, 2009). *Every attempt is made to keep this online copy of the Land Use Ordinance up to date and accurate. However, the official, most current version of the ordinance is signed and on file with the town clerk.
