2006 Projects

Depot Street Sidewalk - To finish off the Depot Street Project, a sidewalk has been added from Atlantic Highway (Route One) North about 1000 feet. This, plus the new sidewalks on Jefferson Street, should make the walk to school that much safer in the near future.

Dutch Neck Boat Ramp - This summer public access was improved to the Medomak River. The Marine Park public landing is located approx. 2.75 miles down the Dutch Neck Road (measured from where it meets the Bremen Rd. Route 32) on the left. The ramp was last repaired 22 years ago and currently the sidewalls are deteriorated and need to be replaced with granite curbing. On the part of the ramp that is under water, the cement has washed away and the rebar is exposed.

Jefferson Street - Is getting a well needed overhaul. The project includes improved drainage (so it hopefully won't freeze up so bad in the winter), repaving, and they are planning to start the sidewalks in the fall.

Memorial Park - In April the Department was on Pine Street repairing the road shoulder by Memorial Park.
