You can purchase hunting & fishing licenses or snowmobile & ATV registrations any time
of the day or night, and print out your license from your home or
office in just minutes with MOSES (Maine Online Sportsman's Electronic System).
Marriage Licenses:
Before the wedding:
- Where you get your license:
- If you both reside in Maine and live in the same town - From the town clerk of the town you reside in.
- If you both reside in Maine but live in different towns - From the town clerk of either town.
- If one of you reside in Maine but the other does not - From the town clerk of the Maine resident.
- If neither of you are a Maine resident - From any town clerk in the State of Maine.
- Licenses are issued - As soon as the application is filled out and and signed by the town clerk.
- Where you may marry - Anywhere in the State of Maine.
- Identification: You must present your current photo ID's with a physical description of yourselves (such as a driver's license).
This must also be presented to the person who marries you.
- Cost - $30.00
- Valid for - 90 days from the date they are issued. The marriage must occur within that period or another license must be obtained.
- A certified copy of a divorce decree or a death certificate is needed for those who have been previously married.
Witnesses:
- Number needed - 2
- Age requirements - Do not have to be of any specific age but must be able to understand the seriousness of a wedding.
- Purpose - Must witness the ceremony and sign the license.
After the wedding ceremony:
- Signing of the license - By the witnesses.
- Possession of the license - The person who marries you will then sign and return the license to the town clerk,
where the license was obtained, within 7 days.
- Certificate of marriage - A momento certificate will be given by the person who marries you, but the LEGAL certificate
must be obtained from the town clerk where the license was obtained.
- Cost of legal certificate - $10.00
Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates:
The Town Clerk's office records all certificates of births, marriages, and deaths if the event occurs
within the Town of Waldoboro and / or if the person or persons were residents of Waldoboro at the
time of the event. Certified copies of the records are available for purchase. The State of Maine
sets the fees of $10.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record ordered
at the same time. You can download the vital records request
form and mail it or bring it to the Town Office.
Dog Licenses:
Dog licenses go on sale each fall for the following calendar year. You may license a dog in person
at the Town Office.
New License:Please bring your dog's current Maine rabies certificate (the certificate must
be current. No out-of-state rabies certificates please. You will also need
to bring your dog's spay or neutering certificate.
Fees:
- Altered $6.00
- Unaltered $11.00
- Kennel Fee $42.00 (up to 10 dogs)
- Late fee $15.00
- Warrant fee $25.00
Renewals: Renewals are due by the end of December of each year
Hunting and Fishing Licenses
We sell licenses to any Maine resident or non-resident. Residents must meet all these
requirements to be eligible to purchase a resident hunting or fishing license:
- Must be domiciled in Maine continuously for three months prior to applying for the license;
- must be in compliance with Maine Income Tax Laws;
- if licensed to drive, must have made application to or possess a Maine Drivers License
- all motor vehicles owned by applicant and located in Maine must be registered in Maine
- and if registered to vote, applicant must be registered to vote in a Maine town
Applicant must comply with all the rules mandated by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
New and renewals: You must bring evidence of a previous hunting (or archery) license
OR
bring proof of completion of a Maine Hunter Safety Course.
Purchasing for others: You may purchase licenses here for others if the above requirements
are met
Complimentary over 70 licenses: The State offers complimentary licenses to residents who
are over 70 years old. You may be issued a complimentary license any time within the year you turn
70, you do not have to wait for your birthday. These licenses include hunting, archery, and fishing,
and have no expiration date.
